Have you ever worked hard, repeatedly hit your goals but still felt something was missing? That was my life.
Let's hop into a time machine, back 20 years…
…
Here I am, a high-achiever at the peak of his game, wrapping up a successful consultancy business and laying the groundwork for Salad, a promising training company.
I’m obsessed with mind hacking, lifestyle design, and business achievement, yet fulfillment eludes me.
I’m hyper-focused on productivity, but stress and pressure are daily (unwelcome) guests.
I find myself neglecting other crucial areas of my life, causing my health and personal relationships to suffer.
And here's something I almost cringe to admit...
Over, above and deeper than all of that, I feel like I’m being someone I’m not.
I feel like I'm playing a part, presenting an 'ideal successful person' mask to the world.
I'm gripped by the fear that taking off this mask might lead to disaster.
Because of all of this, I often feel flat and struggle to stay motivated. And, when you think about it, it isn’t surprising:
- Those hard-won achievements aren't delivering the lasting satisfaction they promised.
- Being someone you are not is exhausting, unnatural, and can even feel alienating.
I begin to sense a growing feeling of isolation as others, viewing my success, assume happiness is a given, and discount my internal struggles.
What's fascinating is that I'm barely aware of why I feel this way.
In my search for answers, I keep pushing harder, hoping to mend or add something in my habits, relationships, business, or other aspects of life.
And then, everything starts to change.
In 2007, I stumble upon Tim Ferriss's "The 4-Hour Work Week," a tantalizing promise of freedom, adventure, and a leaner workload. I'm hooked.
After a year of refining my business, I'm gearing up for a three-month sabbatical to Whistler, one of Canada’s premier ski resorts.
“This is it!” I think as I book my tickets. “Finally, I’m going to have what I’ve been looking for. I’m going to be fulfilled, peaceful, and exhilarated. I’m going to take my skiing to a new level, feel super-successful, and have brilliant bragging rights.”
But, reality doesn't match expectations.
The initial euphoria dissipates swiftly, leaving behind a gnawing discomfort and a sense of boredom.
My winning formula isn't adding up, and that's when everything truly begins to shift…
(…to be continued…)
…
In the next two emails, I’ll share a bit of:
- What I started to realize after this unexpected experience and how it shifted my entire life.
- How it allowed me to assist numerous high-achievers in overcoming stress, bypassing overwhelm, and locating the elusive key to deep fulfillment—an internal, unconditional feeling of success.
- The classified project I've been cultivating with a couple of mystery partners since December, specifically aimed at this topic.
This project is tailor-made for entrepreneurs, managers, investors, top-tier freelancers, and other high-achievers.
They are those who, despite above-average skills, efforts, and accomplishments, often find themselves wrestling with a nagging sense that something is missing, without being able to pinpoint it.
So stay tuned, the next email will be landing in your inbox within the next couple of days.
In the meanwhile, I would LOVE to know:
Does this story speak to you and how?
Feel free to send an email to [email protected] and share your thoughts.
I’m super-interested, so I’m looking forward to personally reading each response.
Best,
Jamie Smart

P.S. Also, a big welcome from my two yet-to-be-revealed mystery partners. They've dedicated even more time to this project than I have.
Everything you see and read, including these emails, is as much a product of their efforts as it is mine. I’m extremely grateful to be working with these two trailblazers.
